Volunteers (18 years+) Required for Merlin Casino


Merlin Casino for RGC Junior Athletes:  Tuesday April 17 and  Wednesday April 18, 2018 at Grand Villa Casino located at the Rogers Center ( 10204  104 Ave). We require volunteers from the Skating Section to attend.  Merlin assists with Junior Athlete Development at the RGC, recently they have assisted with seminars and funding for the skaters and other athletes in the club.  Re-imbursement can be paid upon receipts for the following: Taxi, parking, child care.  Official receipts will be required, for re-imbursement.
Please let me know if you can volunteer by February 16. Presently we have four adults that have kindly volunteered to attend the casino.  We are in need of more volunteers!
 

Stars on Ice, May 13


Stars on Ice is coming to Edmonton, Sunday May 13, see Canada's Olympic Stars. It would be fun if RGC skaters and their families could attend the event as a group.  If you want to purchase tickets, please email skatingdirector.royalglenora@gmail.com by Thursday February 15 with how many tickets you will require, so we can purchase the tickets at a group rate: $80 +$12.50 service charge =$92.50 ($10 discount from regular price).  Payment for tickets will be done on GameTime, more details to follow for ticket payment.
                               

2018 RGC Elements Event for Future Stars


The 2018 RGC Elements Event for Future Stars will be hosted by the Royal Glenora Figure Skating Club. Edmonton Skating Clubs and surrounding areas will be in attendance.  Registration now open on GameTime. Deadline for registration February 16, 2018.  Volunteers will be required for the event (ice captains, announcing, awards presentations, registration, etc).

Group Lesson Programs


1) Junior Academy Program

This program allows CanSkaters to work with highly trained RGC Competitive Figure Skating Coaches with National/International experience to learn the technical skills to excel in their skating. This program will focus on transitioning CanSkaters to the STARSkate program while learning the fundamentals of skating.

2) Starskate Program

This program is for the advanced CanSkater who wants to learn figure skating skills in group lessons with Figure Skating Instructors. The program includes 45 minutes of off-ice instruction followed by a 45-minute on-ice group lesson.

Competitive Programs: April 3-June 28


1) Junior Competitive Program: $550

This program is for the STARSkater, levels 1-3, who is geared for taking tests and participating in competitions. The program includes off-ice instruction (fitness, ballet, and off-ice jump) and group lessons in stroking and spins. Designated junior free skate is available. Private lessons not included.

  • Mondays: 4:15-5pm Yoga, 5:15-6pm on-ice, 6-6:15pm group spins
  • Tuesdays: 4:45-5pm group stroking 2 group classes/day 4:45-5:45pm on-ice 
6-6:30pm ballet
  • Wednesdays: 4:30-5:15pm on-ice 2 group classes/day 5:15-5:30pm group spins

2) Intermediate/Senior Competitive: $750

This program is for the highly competitive skater, Pre-Juvenile + Senior Competitive, and includes on-ice group lessons in stroking (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday), spins (Tuesday, Thursday), and off-ice fitness, including ballet/stretch and jump class (Monday-Thursday), and designated senior free skate. Private lessons not included.
